talked to Jerry Dobbins himself on 23APR2002 - he said the vert feed threads are .812-32.

...and defiance adds:
Two notes. 1, be certain you set the DIP enable high when interfacing to the LCD, 2, the first (function set) command must be sent as if the controller is in 8-bit mode. Other than that, the controller is completely HD44780 compatible, wired for 4-bit mode.
